Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud

The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.

Helix Nebula mentioned by Commissioner Neelie Kroes

RAPID - PRESS RELEASE: Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda, in her presentation of "A European Cloud strategy" at the Economic Council Symposium in Brussels on 25 June 2012, spoke of Helix-Nebula when discussing 'Cloud-Computing – Between growth opportunities and privacy'.

 

On the 25 June 2012, in Brussels, Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda, in her presentation of "A European Cloud strategy" at the Economic Council Symposium spoke of Helix-Nebula when discussing 'Cloud-Computing – Between growth opportunities and privacy': "Modern science depends on a huge amount of data: the Cloud offers a fast and flexible way to store, process and share it. Even for scientists working in different disciplines or different countries, hundreds of kilometres apart. That's why a number of prominent research centres, for example CERN and the European Space Agency, have teamed up to launch a massive Cloud computing effort, Helix Nebula".
