Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud

The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.

The purpose of the tender is to research and demonstrate solutions to overcome obstacles for the adoption of cloud computing by the public sector. The Cloud for Europe PCP is inviting suppliers to bid for any or all of three services (lots), each of which provides a framework agreement for the realisation of research and development services.

To ensure that Europe reaps the benefits of the shift to cloud computing, there is the need to focus on new ways of procuring cloud based services. The PICSE initiative wants to reflect the requirements of the stakeholders and therefore PICSE invites you to contribute to this by taking part in the survey on barriers to procurement of cloud services.

CERN was invited to the European Research e-Infrastructures and Innovation Clusters to demonstrate how Helix Nebula supports SMEs.

Helix Nebula is found in iMentors' mapping e-infrastructure initiatives list. iMentors is a e-infrastructure monitoring evaluation and tracking support system that has mostly to do with all e-infrastructure development projects of Sub-Saharan Africa. It is a project co-funded by the European Commission's DG CONNECT under the 7th Framework Programme.
