Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud

The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.


On the 20th of January 2016, Bob Jones, CERN and PICSE & HNSciCloud Coordinator, presented HNSciCloud, the recently launched (Jan 2016) European Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project co-funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 Programme.

On the 23rd of April 2015, Bob Jones was invited by the European Commission at the 3rd Digital European Research Area (ERA) Forum meeting to present the ‘European Open Science Cloud’.

The poster "Accessing commercial cloud resources within the European Helix Nebula cloud marketplace" demonstrating the work achieved by HNI at CERN was presented at the CHEP2015 conference, 13-17 April 2015, Okinawa, Japan.
